When a person purchases anything from the market, then it is called a consumer. We are all customer because every day we keep buying any other thing. These things come in many things like milk, veg, cotton, pencil, clothes, furniture, and electrical goods. Customer use money, time, strength, and brains to buy these things. The things used in daily use can be bought from many places in the market such as shop, sidewalk, market, wholesale shop or central store.

When a person purchases anything from the market, then it is called a Customer.

Customer usually does not have the right information about the market, such as which new things are being sold in the market, where and where to find good and affordable. The buyer exploits the buyer's nonsense and uses it in the wrong way such as less weeding, not giving the right thing, adulteration, etc. In this way, the seller makes a lot of profit, but the consumer does not get the full satisfaction of spending his money. Therefore, when buying anything from the market, the consumer has to face a lot of problems, such as having a different price for something, not getting into the market of things, adulteration, mis-measuring, poor quality, etc.

In such a situation, it is necessary that the buyers be aware of their rights and give full information about the things so that they cannot be a victim of fraud. They should have the right information about their rights and duties.

- Receipt of the item bill, cash receipt, guarantee, etc.

- Buying items from good shops.

- Do not buy things from the black market.

- Use government-accredited items.

Today's Customer is unhappy with low earnings, high prices and bad attitude of shopkeepers. Things, like mixing things and telling the customer wrong about the item, are common. The producers want to make maximum profit and they do not at all think about what the Customer will have to do with it.

Now the Government has started several programs for this to not harm the Customer. To make customers aware, the government is giving many advertisements in newspapers, TVs and radio. These advertisements are said to describe what the customer has and what the government can do to protect their rights.

'Jago Grahak Jago' is the only such program run by the government, in which the Customer is informed that if they are cheated with them, then where and how they can complain and how the government can punish the guilty shopkeeper.

Complaints can be lodged under the Consumer Protection Act. A 3-level justice system has been started for this. Consumer platforms have been built at many levels. These platforms are working to protect the rights and interests of the consumer. Forum or commission has been created in every district, state, and center, where customer can register their complaints. Complaints of compensation ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 1 crore at the district level are heard and compensation of over Rs 1 crore has been heard at the national level. The Supreme Court is the last hearing. Under this rule, the Commission has been asked to take action in the complaint within 3 months and action has been taken. No fee is required for the complaint in the court.

Knowing consumer rights and the rights of the consumers, therefore, can avoid being a victim of consumer fraud and be aware of their rights.
